Blog Overview

This Blog contains information on 4 sellers that I contacted while in Bhuj.
================================================

The first two sellers, located in the tiny village of Bhujodia (just outside of Bhuj), primarily sold woolen shawls. Those two sellers are:

  1. Vankar Gabhubhai Jakhubhai: Laxmi & Rajesh's Business
  2. Vankar Viram Parbat: Chandresh's Business

The products from the shawl shops were nice, and the prices were reasonable. It was also interesting for me to see how & where these shawls are made, there in Bhojodia & other parts of Kutch.

However, many of the products found in these shops are found here in Vadodara, so it may make sense to just purchase them here -- unless a very large order is desired. At any rate, if there is an interest in these items, I will gather more information, specifically in regards to pricing differences between Vadodara & Bhuj.

I look forward to any feedback in this regard.

The second two sellers portrayed in this blog are primarily antique dealers, though they both sold new items, as well. New items tended to be less expensive than the older items - as I understand it, this is generally due to the more ornate embroidery styles of the older pieces. Both shops were dealing in a wide variety of Kutchi handicrafts & tribal embroidery styles. The two sellers of older pieces, as found below, are:

  1. Ekta Art Old Items: Bharat's Business
  2. Sathvara Handicrafts: Jadavji's Business

So, this outlines the four sellers whose products I introduce you to in this blog. As always, feedback on the products is appreciated, as we develop our export product line.

Second Shop: Vankar Viram Parbat (Chandresh's Shop)

This is the business card for Chandresh's shop. It is located near Laxmi & Rajesh's shop in Bhujodi. This shop also specializes in wool shawls.

These styles of shawls, as found in these two shops, are all available here in Baroda / Vadodara, though they are produced here in Bhuj. If there is interest in these shawls, an in-depth price comparison should be done.

While almost everyone claims that these shawls are 100% wool, for the most part, they are not. They contain some synthetics, as well.

Prices given are wholesale rates. Some discount may be possible on a bulk order.
